Change the way you see things

And the things you see will change

Do you see angel wings? X

Soul Sunday

Our mind doesn’t know the way

Our heart has already been there

And our soul never left

Welcome home

Daily Affirmation

My past is nothing more than the trail I have left behind… What drives my life today is the energy I generate in each of my present moments 🦋

(Picture taken yesterday at Ness beach Shaldon Devon)

The Ness, Devon, England

Took the hairy boy for a walk on the beach yesterday. Just beautiful!!

I’m very lucky that I live in a very lovely part of my country, Devon. This is Ness beach, which is in Shaldon near Teignmouth. The pictures where taken on the beach and then I walked along the coastal path, and looked down on the beach.

I love going to the beach just to clear my head. I often go in-between night shifts because I struggle the most, physically and mentally when I’m on night shifts. To be blunt it just fucks my body up!! But I’ve become aware of that now, I began to recognise the pattern so I put plans in place to support me during those times. I think that’s the key really when you having a low time…

  1. Recognising your patterns of moods…. When do they happen? What’s triggered it? Maybe keep a mood diary for a couple mouths so you can build up a picture.
  2. Plan for those times. Do nice things that make you happy such as listen to music, take a walk, hot bath, watch your favourite programme. Be kind to yourself
  3. Except that it is going to happen, and that’s ok. You are prepared, it’s normal, and it won’t last.

As soon as I excepted the fact that when I do a run of night shifts I’m going to feel tired, I’m going to feel low, I’m probably going to cry, I just felt better and did not stress myself out worrying why I was feeling like this.

Hope this helps.

Love to you all x

Doing the job I am doing at the moment definitely puts everything into prospective.

We are here on this earth for a brief moment, one minute we are here the next we are gone, how ever you think of it, what your beliefs are, take this small window of life, grab it, squeeze the hell out of it, sometimes the journey is a struggle, thats ok because it doesn’t last forever.

You don’t take your ‘things’  with you,  you don’t take your money, that is all insignificant in the end.

You do leave behind the way you have made people feel, the way you have treated people, the kindness you shown, the care you have taken, the words that you have said, the laughter you have started, the tears you have shed, the memories you have created.

What are YOU leaving behind on this Earth? x

One Love, friendship

Looking back at my past blog posts I have used this picture three times. I love this picture because to me this represents the bond two friends have.

I took this picture a few years ago on a school trip to the local park. These boys where the classes little loveable rebels. I knew them from the day they started in nursery to the day they left in year six. They had been friends from that time in nursery and it had lasted all the way. They had their ups and downs, fall outs, but they always had that bond.

I’m so glad I caught this moment they had together that day, it just looked so peaceful, an unspoken conversation, closeness,  understanding. x

WPC – Harmony

Harmony…Tricky, can mean a million things to millions of people. To me it is how things complement each other, how things belong together to make one whole, the whole picture of how sky, sea and earth together together make our world, and each picture we take of the sky, sea and earth will look completely different but are only made up of those three elements.

This picture was taken one summers evening, whilst I was sitting on a wall eating fish and chips, at Teignmouth, Devon, England. x

WPC – Seasons

Picture 027

I thought I would post a picture for each season,

As you see above Winter, this picture was taken on my old iPhone when in the rare occasion we actually got snow here, the last time being 2010. We went on a snow walk to the woods, very atmospheric!

Following the cold dark Winters is Spring, this picture represents Spring well here for me, because I live in the countryside the farmers plant the maze and then cover it with plastic which leaves an effect around us like we are surrounded in sparkly water.

Then of cause my favourite time Summer, this is me doing exactly what I want to be doing all the time, say no more you get the picture!

Then Autumn, or how some of you call it Fall, I love the colours at this time of year. The seasons just keep going round and round regardless, moving and changing. One thing you can be assured of. x

I have had a week off on annual leave, (well except Wednesday I went in as a favour!) And I have been doing lots of dog walks in the wind and rain.

The first picture I went for the Arabian nights look trudging through the desert, except it was so cold on my delicate little face I needed to cover it. The second look is the Men in Black look, dressed in a alien rubber protection from acid slime suit.

Vibrant Nature

My Second entry to this weeks challenge, the beauty of nature. I am sure I have many more pictures if I delve deep enough into the photo archives, but here are a tiny few that I could grab quickly. Again I don’t think I can take credit for taking these pictures, my OH is the clever one with the lens, I just benefit from them as material for this blog. x

After looking through other blogs on their response to ‘weight(less)’ I had a look through some of my old pictures and found these. I thought they fitted well. The dragonfly one above I would love to take credit for but my better half took that one, it is such a beautiful picture. I love the detail on the wings.

This spider web was outside my classroom one morning, to be fair the web looks a bit laden down by the dew. I can never get the sparkle in the pictures that I see in real life, which is always disappointing.

Hello WordPress world!

Haven’t been here for a long time, have been learning a new career, I have gone from dancer, to teacher, now I am training to be a paramedic! (don’t get excited it is going to take a while) I know I must be mad starting all over again, but it is never to late while I have breath in my body!

This picture just sums up what my life is like at the moment, unpredictable, I have gone from the routine of schools to the world of shift work, I have worked all over christmas for the first time, which I must admit i quite enjoyed!

I took this picture at Sandygate rugby stadium were I had be sent to on my shift on boxing day to cover the players just incase any of them needed a trip to hospital! I have never been to a rugby match before, I had the privilege of coming through the tunnel with the players and sitting pitch side able to be in the centre of all the action, luckily my services were not required.

i just don’t know where my day is going at the moment, one minute I am fighting off a drunk, helping a child, picking up someone off the floor, holding someone in their last moments, stopping a foot from falling off, wiping body fluids off my shoes, then I end up at a sports event!

Take care! x

WPC – Reward

Weekly Photo Challenge

Looking through my pictures to find an appropriate one for this challenge I realise I could have chosen so many pictures to show the rewards in my life!

I am very blessed with family, my lovely dog, the amazing places I have visited in the world, the stunning hotels I have stayed in, the beautiful place I live, with beaches, moorland and countryside, so to norrow it down was tricky. I plumped for this because it sums up a perfect day for me, walking my dog on the beach on a beautiful sunny day, then rewarding myself with a pint looking over the view!

This is looking at Teignmouth in Devon, England, just in case you where interested!

Take care! X

I have noticed I haven’t blogged for a while, this is for many reasons really, enthusiasm, time, not feeling very interesting, changes, to name a few.

But this morning we woke to it snowing, first time here for four years, and the first time my hairy baby boy has seen it! So I thought I would share some pictures with you, which is what I do best! X

My Week In Photos!

DSCN0782.JPG

I thought I would sum my half term week up in the photos that I have taken. I have finally got my camera up and running again. When you move house it does take a while to find the little things that make your life so easy, like chargers, adaptors, memory cards, etc, so with all of them reunited I now have a working camera.

The picture above is of one of the wood walks in Bovey Tracey, Devon, it has been a beautiful week weatherwise, and this next picture will prove that…

Hair Selfie

I’m at the hairdressers (Hair Sanctuary, Totnes, Devon) as we speak, or blog, and she was commenting about my photo challenges, which is weird to think that a real person reads my blog! And by that I mean not a person I never met like all of you!

So last time you all wanted to see my purple hair, well here is a selfie of the dye going on and this time I’m having purple strips going through because I was disappointed that last time no one noticed at work so this time I thought I would go more purple!

Also I have never posted from my phone, this is a first never to be repeated!

I just need to say my hairdresser has put up with a lot over the years from me, I’m a very fussy customer and she is always so kind and patient! Baring that in mind, today she had been getting her own back I think by pulling foils out, drowning me, dye down my neck, poking me, the list is endless! Hehe! She said I will be writing about that later!

I think hair is such an important part of peoples personalities, I know it is for me, my mood can be altered if my hair isn’t right! I love going to the hairdressers, its a real tonic! X

Feb Photo Challenge 28 – The Girls

20140228-191000.jpg

These are my chick chicks, or also known as ‘the girls’.

We adopted them from a neighbour who moved and couldn’t take them with them. Chickens are so easy to keep. As you can see I have gone for the black and white theme again. I think it works! X

Feb Photo Challenge 27 – Lets Dance

Daily Prompt: Let’s Dance

20140227-173257.jpg

Daily Prompt

After reading today’s daily prompt, I just had to join in today. The question they ask is,
What are your earliest and fondest memories of dance?

As a few of you know, but if you don’t dance has been the main factor in my life. It consumed my childhood and I’m still dancing now. So for the last 42 years I have been dancing.

The question above I think is in two parts, first the earliest memory, which for me was at the age of two and a half. That was my first stage appearance. I was performing in a pantomime, Jack and The Beanstalk, and I was the mini jack who popped out of a pie that jack had been put in and he had shrunk, so my part was to hide in the pie side stage, then the giant pie got wheeled onto stage and out I popped. I did a twirl and a curtesy and then ran off stage being chased by widow Twankie. I remember this in so much detail. So that is my earliest dance and stage performance.

Now fondest will be harder to answer, baring in mind I was going to ballet from the age of two, dancing classes every night whilst at primary age, then off to ballet school at the age of eleven, then off to performing arts college at sixteen, then becoming a performer, then a dance teacher and still a dance teacher till this day. So as you can imagine in the last forty years I have done hundreds of performances, exams and classes, in all sorts of different places, in fields, in theatres, in residential homes, in studios, in village halls, in schools, on floats to name but a few. So to choose the fondest is very difficult.

But then if you look at the question, it says the fondest memory ‘of’ dance, so my fondest memory, that sticks with me, is when I was a child, I don’t know what age, I was taken to see the ballet Swan Lake at the big top. I remember the emotion I felt as I was watching the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I was mesmerized, glued to the ballerinas, watching their feet, their extended legs, the mens high jumps and the music just swept me away. Still now when I watch it I could cry all the way through because it is so beautiful, in fact there is a lump in my throat now just typing this. It’s amazing how something can touch you like that, and for someone else they feel nothing.

Feb Photo Challenge 26 – Bear

20140226-205623.jpg

I was really struggling with what to blog today. In looking through my photos I came across this picture of the big brown bear that lives at Dartmoor Zoo, Devon.

Now I chose a bear because I am feeling a bit like a grumpy bear, I’m tired, and very stiff. I’m not sure why, it’s just one of those day where you feel like frowning at everything and telling everyone to bugger off, which is hard to do in the job that I do!

On the bright side, in this picture I notice our grizzly bear has a little smile, so maybe if he can find his smile I might find mine somewhere! X
