Again these pictures were taken on the same school trip, it was to enhance their creative writing, it is called the Ted Hughes trail. He is a local famous poet.

WPC Take 2 – Weight(less)

IPad pictures 003

After looking through other blogs on their response to ‘weight(less)’ I had a look through some of my old pictures and found these. I thought they fitted well. The dragonfly one above I would love to take credit for but my better half took that one, it is such a beautiful picture. I love the detail on the wings.

IPad pictures 036

This spider web was outside my classroom one morning, to be fair the web looks a bit laden down by the dew. I can never get the sparkle in the pictures that I see in real life, which is always disappointing.

IPad pictures 510

Again my better half took this one. Wouldn’t you just love to be flying high as free as a bird.

Hello WordPress world!

Haven’t been here for a long time, have been learning a new career, I have gone from dancer, to teacher, now I am training to be a paramedic! (don’t get excited it is going to take a while) I know I must be mad starting all over again, but it is never to late while I have breath in my body!

This picture just sums up what my life is like at the moment, unpredictable, I have gone from the routine of schools to the world of shift work, I have worked all over christmas for the first time, which I must admit i quite enjoyed!

I took this picture at Sandygate rugby stadium were I had be sent to on my shift on boxing day to cover the players just incase any of them needed a trip to hospital! I have never been to a rugby match before, I had the privilege of coming through the tunnel with the players and sitting pitch side able to be in the centre of all the action, luckily my services were not required.

i just don’t know where my day is going at the moment, one minute I am fighting off a drunk, helping a child, picking up someone off the floor, holding someone in their last moments, stopping a foot from falling off, wiping body fluids off my shoes, then I end up at a sports event!

Take care! x

WPC – Intricate

I know, another picture of my boy, but I just love this picture, it sure is intricate!

There is something powerful about looking into your dogs eyes, they are really trying to work out what you are thinking, what is your next move. They help heal and they soothe.

If you look really close into his eyes you will see me reflecting in them! X

WPC – Ephemeral

This is a rare fleeting moment when my OH was on an Alaskan cruise, a whales tail as it dives deeper into the water!

Is there a snail on the the tail of the whale?

WPC – Reward

Weekly Photo Challenge

Looking through my pictures to find an appropriate one for this challenge I realise I could have chosen so many pictures to show the rewards in my life!

I am very blessed with family, my lovely dog, the amazing places I have visited in the world, the stunning hotels I have stayed in, the beautiful place I live, with beaches, moorland and countryside, so to norrow it down was tricky. I plumped for this because it sums up a perfect day for me, walking my dog on the beach on a beautiful sunny day, then rewarding myself with a pint looking over the view!

This is looking at Teignmouth in Devon, England, just in case you where interested!

Take care! X

WPC – Rule of Thirds

IMG_2199

Weekly Photo Challenge

This is a picture of my handsome boy! Any excuse to show you a picture of him, but I think it fits today’s challenge, he is nearly in the third, but you have got the blurry background!

Take care x

WPC – Angular

IMG_2463.JPG

What has this photo got to do with the word angular, I hear you say…well that is a good question, I think I chose this because I like the angle and perspective of this, and it did take my OH a while to balance this fella, I also like the lines on the stone.

WPC – Achievement

IMG_2354.JPG

IMG_2343.JPG

This has been hard!

I have achieved a lot, but having that in photos is a different thing, they are almost things that can not be put into a picture!

My best achievement, which is hard to admit cos I’m not that kind of person, a private one, is that I’m a survivor, I have made it here today.

The pictures above are drawing that I did a little while ago, after not picking up a colouring pencil since I left school, I was quite pleased with them!

Take care! X

IMG_2243.JPG

I have found this weeks challenge a real challenge. You know when you have a photo in mind that you know you have taken a long time ago, that you know would have fitted the challenge just right, well this isn’t the one! I trudged through all my old pics on the laptop, found loads of photos I haven’t seen for a long time but not the one I wanted, so you can have this one instead, it kinda fits! X

WPC – Cover Art

IMG_0729.PNG

Weekly Photo Challenge

I like this weeks challenge!

I shall tell you why, this is actually a cover I have given to some writing I have started to put together. I have, like many, popped some things down, do you want a read of how it starts….

I am even afraid to start, and where do you start? I don’t know I’m sure, where would you start telling strangers about your journey? Every ones life pathways are all going in different directions. My journey, (even though I hope I am not even halfway through yet), has weaved an interesting path so far, well I think so any- way, and you might find it interesting, or even helpful to know that there is some- one who might have had the same experi- ences as you, that you are not the only one, you are not alone. Some might judge my story, well lets face it all of you will, we all judge, we are making judgments about people all the time conscience and sub consciously, some right, some wrong.

I am going to have to write this my way,

My friend, I’ll say it clear, I’ll state my case of which I’m certain.

I am no writer and no reader. I can count on one hand how many whole books I have ever read. So the paragraphs are going to be small for the low concentration levels of some, like me. There are going to be pictures, I have always liked books with lots of pictures, it’s something pretty to look for us visual learners…..

So there we go! X

WPC – Refraction

Weekly Photo Challenge

IMG_0726-6.JPG

Evening, morning, afternoon,

Not quite sure what refraction means really so took a guess with this picture.

This was taken on one of my many dog walks!

I love the rays radiating out from the ball of light, like it’s sending out its magic out to you personally, and how it is reflecting in the slither of puddle.

Take care! X

Do you know what it is yet?

Image

Do you know what it is yet?

I was on a walk with the dog one early morning this week, it was such a beautiful morning, heavy dew sparkling on the grass, making the small cobwebs shine, trees showing through the mist in the back ground and I just thought ‘wow’ I so want to paint this. But I had no paints. I was thinking about it all day, so in the evening I searched out some old colouring pencils that were the boys as they were growing up, sharpened them up, ordered them in colours, and I drew this. What do you think? It’s no Da Vinci, I know!

So today I went out and have brought some acrylics, I don’t know what to do with them but I’m looking forward to having a play later. As I’m such a perfectionist I’m sure most of it going to end up in the bin out of frustration, but I just want to give it a go!

So if there is any of you out there that have any tips, mainly on mixing colours and layering then I’m all ears!

Threshold

Image

A threshold is a point of entering; that point just before a new beginning — that split-second moment in time, full of anticipation. All the hard work is over; relief is palpable.

Weekly Photo Challenge

This photo was taken a couple of years ago on one of my year sixes last school trips together. I find this photo very poignant because these boys where best friends all the way through their primary life, having their ups and downs of cause, very lively, chatty, sometimes naughty, but this moment is like they are just taking a second quietly together, looking out towards their future, their threshold before heading towards different secondary schools apart. Their calm before their transition and their life changes, their new beginning. X

Now what?

20140302-085942.jpg

At the beginning of February I challenged myself to post something everyday, which for the first time I have actually achieved! So now I have got into the habit of posting everyday I kinda don’t what to stop the momentum.

So now what?

What shall I challenge myself to this month?

I’m sure you have some cool ideas, I would still like to keep to a photo theme.

So answers on a post card please…..or in this modern time in my comments box.

Have a good Sunday! X

Feb Photo Challenge 23 – Big Cats

20140223-195302.jpg

Just having a look through my pictures and I thought I would put together for you some of my favourite pictures of the big cats at Dartmoor Zoo, Devon, that OH took.

They are great aren’t they! X

Feb Photo Challenge 22 – Wood Burner

20140222-172854.jpg

I was wondering what to post today, so I thought I would warm you all up by sharing my wood burner with you!

It’s lovely having a wood burner, but when it is your only heat in the whole house, so no luxury of switching a button to warm up, come wind and rain you have to go out and chop wood. We are in constant forage mode, seeing what we can burn.

My dad always said to me wood heats you up five time, chop tree down, saw wood, load wood, unload wood, burn wood! And he is so right. There is something quite satisfying about having to work so hard to keep yourself warm, but some days when you get home late from work, the house is cold, it’s dark and raining, you would give anything to be able to just switch a switch. And don’t start me on the dust!! X

Feb Photo Challenge 21 – First Walk of The Day

20140221-150651.jpg

I took this picture this morning on my first walk of the day, it is a picture of the farm where I live, looking down on it from the lane. It was a beautiful blue sky, a tad chilly though. Now of cause it is raining, so I best wrap up for the next walk! X

Feb Photo Challenge 20

20140220-202428.jpg

20140220-202514.jpg

Today started off being a day of nothing planned, but ended up beginning a real busy day!

Needed a boost so phoned hairdressers, felt like a change and I have ended up having my hair dyed dark purple. Looks pretty cool!

Then went for a lovely walk on the beach in Paignton, Devon. As you can see by the pictures it was a beautiful afternoon, not raining, which makes a change! Then you can’t go seaside without having a chippy supper, so ate chicken and chips in the car! Brill x

Feb Photo Challenge 16

20140216-153159.jpg

My sunshine doesn’t come from the skies,
It comes from the love in my dogs eyes!

At last my OH got the hint that I wanted them to get their camera out again! And has taken the best picture ever of my hairy big boy!

20140216-153614.jpg

This will look great framed on the wall!

look carefully into his eyes, you will see who he loves and protects!

Feb Photo Challenge 15

20140215-210815.jpg

I nearly didn’t get to do a blog post today! Gasp! I hear you say!

Been a blimin busy day! What with teaching this morning, and my computer going cuput so I had no music.

Bear wrestling this afternoon, that’s translated as walking a oversize, mental, excitable dog. My hand is so sore that I am having trouble typing this!

Then just to top it off we now have a mini visitor, who is now finally settled upstairs asleep. So the lager has just been cracked open and I’m going to sit down, enjoy the peace and wait for the next feeding time! Oh and find a icepack for my hand! X

the picture was taken….yes you’ve guessed it by my OH! Beautiful isn’t it! X

Feb Photo challenge 14

I shouldn’t even be blogging now! Putting this before my OH!

What do you do normally for valentines?

We always take it in turns to cook, this year it’s my turn!

And here it is… Well the end of it because I forgot…

Now must go, film to watch, wine to drink!

Love ya! X

Feb Photo Challenge 13

20140213-191423.jpg

Another one of OHs beautiful pictures!

Exciting things are in the pipeline! Can’t say anything at the moment, because I don’t want to jinks it! All can say is, guardian angels are sent to you in many shapes, sizes and disguises!

As one door closes, another one opens! So watch this space!

Feb Photo Challenge 12 –

20140212-180253.jpg

I have cheated today, sorry, and not posted a photo I have taken (or OH) and stolen one from the tinernet!

I wanted to post this because I do believe it is very true!

Now without going into details, and I am sure many of you are the same, my life could have gone in a completely different direction, if I had allowed certain events in my life to effect me then goodness knows where I would be!

Today has been an exciting day!

Every day is an exciting new beginning!

A new opportunity!

Embrace it! X

Feb Photo Challenge 11 – Knit One, Pearl One

20140211-164007.jpg

A friend at work today gave me a present, he thought that it was going to a be a joke present, but actually it was quite fun!

He gave it to me because of me recently becoming unexpectedly a young grandparent. He thought I could spend my evenings under my blanket, with a hot water bottle, hot cocoa, Taggert on the TV, furry slippers, hair in rollers, doing my knit one, pearl one!

Well sadly enough I do do some of those activities already! And as you can see in the picture above, I thought I would remember how to cast on and do my first row! I’m not quite sure what it’s going to be yet, and to be fair the colour of the wool is yuk! But I might sit here and knit a couple more rows in a minute.

Sad really! This age thing, or the perception of age! What’s that all about?

Feb Photo Challenge 10 – Rainbow

20140210-185032.jpg

Amongst the grey clouds as I was leaving school tonight a double rainbow was across the sky. But of cause by the time I get my camera and fire it up the double part has faded and my picture doesn’t do it justice! But here it is anyway!

It would be so cool if I had the patience to do proper photography, but I’m a bit of an instant girl, if it doesn’t look great first time I’m done. I look at some of the bloggers pictures I follow, and don’t, their pictures are just stunning. Mine, just a grey blob!

Nevermind, can’t be good at everything! X

Feb Photo Challenge 9 – Winters Day

20140209-175537.jpg

Firstly, I’m a bit chuffed with myself that I’m on day nine of my challenge and I haven’t missed a day yet! Which is quite good for me because usually life takes over.

I’m feeling exhausted today, got a real Sunday feeling. Still have to do usual Sunday jobs.

What’s your usual Sunday jobs?
Mine, bins, washing, hoovering, washing and more washing! Lots of muddy towels and clothes at the moment! …. Oh and yes, walking the pooch!

I thought this picture sums up the day really, a typical winters day. This is another beautiful picture my OH took.

Note to OH when you read this…..start taking some pictures again, get your camera out of the cupboard, cos I’m missing your lovely pictures!

Love ya! X

Feb Photo Challenge 8 – Dotty

20140208-212937.jpg

Went this evening to visit my granddaughter, and my son of cause, he took this picture of her doing her first ballet pose! Obviously takes after her nana! (Still a bit weird saying that)

Her first tooth has just pushed through and is now standing up around the furniture, as you can see!

See you tomorrow! X
